The questionnaire
Send the four numbers you have.
Four numbers say whether a home services business is working. Fill in what you have and leave the rest blank. One of us reads it the same day and replies once with what we see.
The four numbers, defined
The same definitions we use on your Monday Report.
So a number you send today means the same thing in month three.
New leads a month
Everyone not already in your customer record who asked for a quote, a visit or a price in a month, whether they came by phone, form, text or a referral. A past customer asking for more work is repeat business and counts elsewhere.
New sales from them
How many of those leads became a paying job in the same month. Not repeat customers, not upsells on existing jobs. New.
What it costs you to sell
Over the last twelve months: salespeople, commissions, sales and marketing managers, the agency, every ad dollar. Not office overhead, not your own pay.
Gross margin
The percent left after materials, crew and equipment on the job. Before office, trucks, insurance and you.
What happens next
Three things, in this order.
Nothing is automated on our side.
Brian, Deane or Garrett. Not a form queue, not an assistant. Ask for the NDA first and that comes back first, signed.
The math on your numbers, where we would look first, and whether we can move anything. If we can't, we say so and that is the end of it.
An hour on your numbers, in person where we can. Observations and options, not a proposal, free either way.
Before you type a number
How we handle it.
- A one-page NDA. We sign it, you don't. It comes back with our reply, or first if you ask
- Your numbers are read by the three of us and nobody else
- Blank is an answer. A number you are unsure of is also an answer; mark it rough
- Nothing you send is used to sell you anything. The reply is observations, not a proposal
What we won't do
With your numbers.
- No sharing, no benchmarking you against a named competitor, no list
- No follow-up sequence. One reply, then it is your move
- No pricing in the reply. Price comes after the working session, against what the moves are worth to you
- No judgement about the gaps. Most owners can't fill in all four; that is the point
Send the numbers
Fill in what you know.
About four minutes. Numbers can be rough. All we need is a way to reach you.
What the four numbers become
A Monday Report, every week.
If we work together, the four numbers become a page you get every Monday: this week against the same week last year, what ran, and what we did about anything that moved the wrong way.
- The four numbers, this week against the same week last year
- What ran: calls answered, quotes chased, past customers reached, bookings back in the record
- What we did about anything that moved the wrong way
- Numbers that match what your accountant sees, to the dollar

Rather talk first?
Twenty-five minutes on the phone. Same questionnaire, same free working session at the end of it.
